THE MOMENT I REALIZED I DIDN'T WANT MY SAFE JOB ANYMORE

THE MOMENT I REALIZED I DIDN'T WANT MY SAFE JOB ANYMORE

I tried the 40+ hour work week stuck in one spot, and thought that being successful with a good job would make me happy. But ultimately it didn't at all. One day I decided that this all just didn’t make sense. That was the day I started saving up to travel for long periods at a time. I have since owned my own businesses, invested my money in other ventures and found part time jobs. I decided to take what I like to call an "adult gap life" (yes, I made that up - my version of a gap year but for the whole duration of adult life). And for the first time in my life I felt absolutely excited about everyday, about every encounter, about every experience.

GOING TO DISNEYWORLD!!!

GOING TO DISNEYWORLD!!!

Hey Everyone. Thanks for the text messages and checking on me. And sorry (not sorry) for being MIA this past week. I will be away to DISNEYWORLD til Jan 25th. I've been trying to blog as I go but my time and sleep schedule has been very overwhelming - 6am wake ups and closing out each park. Find me on Instagram (@ant.life_), I've been posting my Disney spam on my IG STORIES. Here is my schedule:

FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS VANDUSEN BOTANICAL GARDEN

FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS VANDUSEN BOTANICAL GARDEN

The next night took me to VanDusen Botanical Garden for the 33rd season of Festival of Lights. It was a very cold night, with temperatures around the upper 30s (but not cold enough for the snow, which btw I missed by a week). A perfect occasion for a couple of whiskey shots to keep warm.

CANYON LIGHTS AT CAPILANO SUSPENSION BRIDGE PARK

CANYON LIGHTS AT CAPILANO SUSPENSION BRIDGE PARK

The next night of my Christmas tour in Vancouver brought me to the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. This is the second time coming here, but the first time seeing the Canyon Lights displays. I suggest arriving earlier before sunset to see the bridges in the day time and return for the light displays after dark. The views of the Capilano River are amazing during the day, which is not visible during the night.

BRIGHT NIGHTS AT STANLEY PARK - VANCOUVER, BC

BRIGHT NIGHTS AT STANLEY PARK - VANCOUVER, BC

This December I made my annual trip up north to Vancouver, BC to visit family for some early Christmas vibes. Of course I had originally planned for a couple hikes in Squamish & Whistler, but was totally unaware about the freezing conditions up on those northern mountains. (Give me a break, I’m from NorCal where we go most of all four seasons). So instead of the outdoor activities, I turned my attention to Christmas events since I knew a city like Vancouver would have so much to offer.
